The civil aspect of this project was approximately 3 months in duration to create the appropriate terraced levels. As part of this remit earth-mats via soil improvement were carried out including various forms of sub-soil drainage.

The civil aspect of this project spanned approximately three months, focusing on creating the appropriate terraced levels. This phase included earth-mat installations via soil improvement and various forms of sub-soil drainage. Bulk services infrastructure was also completed to service all six stands on the site, although only four stands were developed.

Site Shaping and Retaining Walls:

The project involved constructing retaining wall structures to accommodate six separate stands on the site, which featured an average fall of approximately 12 meters, including boundary walling. Significant stormwater infrastructure was installed to manage the site’s drainage needs and levels.

Built Form:

The main residence was approximately 900m², complemented by a sub-residence of around 400m². Additionally, a pool house and gym, totaling approximately 200m², were built, including a 150m² basement. The development also included a swimming pool.

Basement:

A basement beneath the pool house was constructed to house approximately 180,000 liters of storage water. The primary input for this water storage came from sub-surface water, facilitating all site water usage for half of the year. The basement was formed from a single continuous casting of concrete sheer walls.

Tennis Court:

A semi-submerged tennis court was built, which also functioned as a stormwater attenuation facility.

Hard Surfacing / Landscaping:

Driveways were constructed from pigmented concrete with exposed aggregate, adding to the aesthetic appeal of the development.

Finishing Features:

The project included several distinctive finishing features:

Reeded feature ceilings with exposed trusses
Various bespoke hand-made glazed clay tiles in different areas
Hydronic underfloor heating in the main residence
Full solar PV and backup power systems for the residences
This comprehensive project integrated sophisticated infrastructure, elegant built forms, and detailed finishing features, creating a harmonious and functional living environment.
